Gumboot Festival - New Zealand

The Gumboot Throwing competition, held on

Every year in Taihape, a couple of hour’s south of Taupo, people from all ages, backgrounds and abilities line up to throw a gumboot.

It is a great day out for the family, with a classic New Zealand Kiwiana feeling to it, with gumboot art, dog barking and wearable art competitions and much kids entertainment and craft and food stalls.

Lawnmower races provide some great action while the Baa Black sheep racing provide some fun novelty.
