Suryauday Haveli

This stylish hideaway overlooks the Ganges, right by one of the quieter “ghats” in Varanasi: steps leading down to the river where where pilgrims flock and locals perform daily ablutions. The riverfront location lends an extra level of tranquility to the stylish hotel.

The building itself resembles a fort-style mansion. The Haveli traces its history back to the early 20th century. It was built by the Royal Family of Nepal as a retreat for the aged. Its now been painstakingly put together again to provide the best ghat experience in Varanasi.

It is great fun to arrive by boat, and you can also tour by boat from your hotel – the best way to experience the holy city of Varanasi. The Haveli is also connected by small alleys and streets leading to the Famous Kashi Vishwanath Temple (15 minutes walk). Children of all ages are welcome.
