Your ''Taste of Volunteering'' Project
Orphanage assistance
On Boxing Day 2004 a huge tsunami devastated vast tracts of coastline in South East Asia. The orphanage in Khao Lak was set up in the aftermath, to care for the children who were orphaned by that tsunami.
This is a great opportunity to interact with these remarkable children and help make a real difference to their lives. The nature of the volunteer activities will vary depending on the needs at the time of your stay, but often focus on helping relieve the burden of the permanent care-givers by helping with cleaning, washing, and odd-jobs, as well as gardening, and painting. This allows these professionals to dedicate their valuable time to addressing the needs of the children and helps to improve the environment the children grow up in.
Trip Summary
Beautiful Thailand is a tonic for the senses: Intense colors, fragrant flora, succulent food and warm sunshine. It is no wonder that the Thai have evolved into such a warm and fascinating people.
Be mesmerized by the century old market bazaar, in the strategically important trading center, of Chiang Mai. Marvel at the intricate clothing designs of the H’mong people, who continue to cling to age old culture and traditions. Then feel the soft white sands of the beautiful island beaches as you relax and luxuriate in the warm clear water.
This amazing adventure not only combines Thailand’s beautiful and fascinating hill region with the stunning sun drenched beaches of Phuket. It also adds the fulfilling element of volunteering in an orphanage. Spend quality time with these wonderful people, understand their culture and be warmed by the joyful smiles of the grateful children. This is a trip of a life time.
