Trip Summary
From Hong Kong you fly to Tibet\'s Holy capital, Lhasa, and explore this enchanting city, before travelling to monastic centres, remote towns and lakes.
Your Community Development volunteer project is in Xining, where you help repair simple wood-clay houses for the Tu ethnic people. From Xining you travel to visit some of the Tibetan villages that are rich in Tibetan arts, and the beautiful Labrang Monastery. Your trip ends back in Hong Kong .
From Hong Kong we fly to Tibet's Holy capital, Lhasa, and explore this enchanting city, before travelling to Gyantse and Shigatse –some of the important monastic centres of Central Tibet.
We visit the delightful, remote towns of Nagchu, Tuotuohe, Golmud and Chaka, before arriving in Xining, via the legendary Lake Kokonor as well as the great Yellow Hat Monastery of Kumbu and Labrang, From the historic city of Lanzhou on the banks of the Yellow River, we fly via Beijing for the connecting flight to Hong Kong before flying home.
Your Community Development project is in Xining in western China, where we help repair simple wood-clay houses for the Tu ethnic people. You can also cycle around Xining with flags of Tibetan antelopes to raise awareness of the Tibetan antelopes and help protect them from extinction.
From Xining we travel to Tongren and Xiahe to visit some of the Tibetan villages that are rich in Tibetan arts and the beautiful Labrang Monastery, we travel further to Lanzhou for Hong Kong where you can relax before flying home.
The programme is well balanced with our time evenly divided between the historic valleys of Central Tibet and the dramatic landscapes of the north where we\\\'ll have enough time to visit all the major sites en route, including salt lakes, bird watching opportunities, deep gorges, the Changtang Plateau, and the world\\\'s highest town.

Accommodation is in quality 4* hotels (5 nights), great 3.5* hotels (5 nights), comfortable 3* hotels (4 nights), 1 night in a good 2* hotel, 5 nights in a clean, simple guesthouse/home stay.
