For young families
Adventures your
young children
will never forget
You don't need to wait until your kids are teenagers to travel with purpose. From age 5, these destinations offer life-changing experiences designed around young children — with the comfort and safety every parent needs.
Why start young
The most formative experiences
happen in childhood
Parents often tell us they wish they'd done this when their children were younger. The truth is, young children are often the most deeply affected — their minds are open, their connections are genuine, and they carry what they experience here for the rest of their lives. Both our top picks for young families have excellent kids clubs for the luxury downtime, and gentle, engaging volunteer projects that children absolutely love.
Our two top picks for young children
Perfect from age 5

Thailand
⭐ From age 5 · Highly recommendedWalking alongside rescued elephants is an experience that stays with children forever. Thailand combines this with beautiful beaches, incredible food, and the warmth of the Thai people.
"I've never taken my daughter abroad on my own before. Chris suggested an amazing itinerary volunteering with elephants in Thailand. From the moment we booked I felt completely confident. All we had to do was turn up."Amanda K. — USA, traveled to Thailand

What you need to know
before you go
What will my kids actually do?
In Costa Rica, they'll prepare meals for rescued wildlife at a sanctuary, observe sea turtles nesting, and participate in guided jungle walks. In Thailand, they'll help at an ethical elephant sanctuary and learn about conservation from expert guides. Both are age-appropriate, completely safe, and deeply memorable.
What if they get tired or overwhelmed?
Every itinerary is built around your family's pace. Volunteer days are typically half-days — mornings of purposeful activity followed by afternoons of pool time, beach, or kids club. There's no pressure and no obligation to do more than you want.
Is it safe for young children?
Absolutely. Both destinations have excellent medical facilities, and every project we work with has been vetted for child safety. Hundreds of families with young children have helped here, and have never had a serious incident. Christopher can also advise on vaccinations and health precautions.
