Tiger’s Nest

Formally known as the Taktsang Palphug Monastery, the Tiger’s nest is one of Buddhism’s holiest sites, and the holiest in Bhutan. Dating back to the late 17th century, the nests are 13 caves in which Guru Padmasambhava, who bought Buddhims to the country, is said to have meditated. Visitors can see the four temples which perch on the Paro Valley cliffside.
