October to November is the best time to visit Nepal, as this is the dry season. September is also good, though it may rain more days than not. The countryside is lush and green after the monsoon rains, the air is crisp, and the views are regularly stunningly clear.
December and January are cold at high altitude, so trekking is either very challenging or not possible. But for wildlife viewing, this is the best time.
February to April is the 2nd best time to be in Nepal – the biggest downside is that haziness can make visibility poor.
May and early-June are hot and you can feel the land crying out for the monsoons to begin.
The rains come not all day through mid-June to September, but often ever day, so visibility is poor and trails washed out.
