Wearable Arts Festival - New Zealand

The Wearable Arts Festival is an annual fixture on New Zealand’s cultural calendar and is watched by over 35,000 people. Each show lasts for about two hours and would have great appeal for fans of Cirque du Soleil, as it showcases not only fashion and art, but theater, lighting and dance.

It presents extraordinary outfits, the creative visions of top and aspiring new designers from across New Zealand and overseas, who embrace the opportunity to let their imaginations run wild.

You can have an extraordinary and magical night out in Wellington, stepping into a world where art and the human form combine, where dance, music and lighting tell the story of the body as a canvas, where the lines of fashion and art blur and merge as one.

The extravagant, theatrical and spectacular performances of the Montana World of Wearable Art Awards have been described as “Mardi Gras meets Haute Couture at a Peter Gabriel concert directed by Salvador Dali”.
