One Forty Eight
Located in the peaceful suburb of Langata, bordering the Giraffe Sanctuary, this beautiful little gem with just 8 rooms will provide you with an ideal location to rest and relax in tranquil surroundings.
The location itself is charming, with warthog, parrots, peacocks and monkeys freely coming and going through the garden. Often lions and hyenas can be heard from the proximity of the Nairobi National Park – the only major city in the world to share spaces with wildlife.
An incredible private home forms the foundation of the hotel, original artwork is featured throughout – making this hotel a living gallery. The 5 brand new suites are converted from the on site artist’s studio.
The hotel itself has every modern convenience – delicious food and wine, beautifully appointed rooms, first class service, in room televisions and wifi, as well as easy access to amazing restaurants, museums and wildlife.
Family friendly aspects:
The upstairs loft has been converted into a children’s room, and is a great space for kids. This loft is sold with Bedroom 1.
Nairobi is Kenya’s bustling capital city, often used as a jumping-off point for safari trips. In addition to the worthwhile museums, Karen Blixen’s home and markets in its urban core, the excellent Nairobi National Park is a large game reserve known for breeding endangered black rhinos and home to giraffes, zebras and lions. Next to it is a well-regarded elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
