The Arenal Springs Resort is the perfect getaway if you are looking to remain close to nature but still retain the comfort and amenities of a modern hotel. Indeed, from nearly any location at the resort – the pool, the restaurant, or even your room – you can easily spot the Arenal Volcano on a clear day.
The swimming pool and surrounding deck is a pleasant place to spend the afternoon or evening. There is both an adult and children’s swimming pool, as well as a wet bar, where you can order drinks while still in the water. The resort’s Natria Spa offers all kinds of treatments, including hot stone massages, pedicures, manicures, body wraps, and Swedish massages.
Every morning a complimentary breakfast is served in the restaurant. Lunch and dinner can be enjoyed from a menu that specializes in meats and seafood. The atmosphere is excellent and the food is varied – there are both local favorites and international meals to be tried.
All of the resort’s colonial-style cabins offer impressive and unobstructed views of the Arenal Volcano. The cabins have vaulted ceilings and large bay windows, as well as a spacious private bathroom with a garden-style shower. Rooms have either one king size bed or two queen size beds (both of which have orthopedic mattresses), air conditioning, ceiling fan, cable TV, and a mini-fridge. Outside, each has a private covered porch with leather rocking chairs and a coffee table.
Arenal Springs has a stable of horses and operates a 2.5 hour horse tour that leads to an observation point for the Arenal Volcano.
The smoking crater of Arenal volcano sits almost 5,500ft above the lush green valley and surrounding forest. The region is a wonderland for adventure and activities, with almost everything possible. Rainforest hikes, white-water rafting and horseback riding are just a few of the immediate options. Nature tours show off the best of the local wildlife and there are natural hot springs to ease into at the day’s end.
