The original hotel dates back to 1956, but more recent renovations have transformed the entire building. Some of the previous charm is apparent in the old wing, with its lavish suites. The new wing is similarly plush, and its suites are among the most swanky in the city.
A resurgent destination for the last couple of decades, the centre still retains its former name of Saigon. Learn about the turbulent past of the city at the excellent War Remnants Museum or take in the exotic carvings at the Emperor Jade Pagoda. The markets and food stalls are well worth checking out.
