Constructed entirely of wood, the five cabins and main lodge (boasting a fine restaurant) seem completely at home on the shores of Lake Kivu. Four poster beds and stone-clad bathrooms are featured in all the rooms. If you want to get closer to the water, the lodge offers a full range of water sports.
Small lakeside villages pepper the terraced hills that lead down to the tranquil waters. Rwanda’s largest lake, people come here to relax, try some water sports, or use as a base to go trekking and look for chimpanzees. Charter boat services connect visitors to the lakeside resorts.
