Hemingways Nairobi is a luxury boutique hotel set in the quiet and exclusive Nairobi suburb of Karen. Each of the 45 expansive suites includes a butler service.
The planning and orientation of the property respond to the unique features of the site with the aim of optimizing the views over the forested valley and most importantly the famous Ngong Hills.
The hotel’s main public building opens onto large, airy terraces on both the ground and first floors with sweeping, uninterrupted views towards the Ngong Hills. The bedroom wing is divided into double storey blocks of four rooms each which gently step down the slope of the land. Here too the orientation of the buildings is set overlooking the rolling lawns and the Ngong Hills in the distance. An excellent wellness center is on site, along with a pool, gym and spa.
Nairobi is Kenya’s bustling capital city, often used as a jumping-off point for safari trips. In addition to the worthwhile museums, Karen Blixen’s home and markets in its urban core, the excellent Nairobi National Park is a large game reserve known for breeding endangered black rhinos and home to giraffes, zebras and lions. Next to it is a well-regarded elephant orphanage operated by the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
