One Francis Ford Coppola is the owner of this high-end lodge, which has a thatched roof up top and curved pool down below. Out back, you can walk down the trail which leads to the lake, where you can swim or kayak at your leisure. There’s a shared veranda for taking a sun-downer and looking out over the water.
One of the most impressive remnants of the Mayan civilization, Tikal was once home to around 100,000 people and is estimated to have had 3,000 structures. Today you can still see some of the impressive pyramids, and you can climb tower-like temples with toucans and parrots for company.
