A turn of the century mansion, completely restored to a luxury boutique hotel, Mansion Alcazar is located in the heart of the city of Cuenca, Ecuador; which was selected as one of the few World Cultural Heritage Cities by UNESCO in 1999 as a result of community efforts to restore the splendid beauty of years gone by. Mansión Alcázar is set within the historical downtown of Cuenca on Bolivar Street which hosts important tourist buildings.
This house belonged to Enrique Cordero, son of former President, Mr. Luis Cordero. The house was known as “Casa Cordero” until 1999 when it was converted into the Boutique Hotel Mansion Alcazar.
Personalized service is given not only upon arrival, but also in the intimate Le Bar and Casa Alonso Restaurant, where you can enjoy a drink and the best gourmet cuisine in town.
An atmospheric destination, all cobble-stoned streets, old churches and a charm that has disappeared in much of the rest of the world. The city is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site and there is a selection of excellent museums telling of the Inca and Canari history.
