Masseria Torre Maizza
Masseria Torre Maizza stands at the center of a large estate on a hillside, overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, just one mile from the coast. The old garrison Torre Maizza was built in the sixteenth century, under the Order of the Knights of Malta.
A cozy intimate sanctuary, Torre Maizza has 28 rooms designed to enjoy the pleasures of a farm life.
As a boutique hotel, Torre Maizza retains the warmth of traditional hospitality, with a choice of three restaurants and as many culinary styles.
Masseria Torre Coccaro is also a fully working farm, with a herbarium, originally made by Benedictine monks. The farm produces its own olive oil, jams and preserves, and spirits of citrus and wild herbs.
The Spa is located in the watchtower and is equipped with jacuzzi, turkish bath and a wide range of treatments. The Spa uses products of the farm: its much appreciated olive therapy, as well as treatments using aloe vera, bean curd scrub for sensitive skin and yellow grapefruit mask or watermelon mask, to refresh skin during summer days.
Puglia in Southern Italy hides a myriad of guarded sights, historical architecture and beaches untouched by tourism.
Puglia is a region that can satisfy any taste and interest, from its ancient history to the Medieval and Baroque epochs, from its castles that line the coast to the tiny, artistic villages where artisanal masterpieces come to life.
Local and international festivals add a little spice to life such as the Otranto Jazz Festival and La Notte della Taranta, where the area’s traditional dance, the Pizzica is celebrated.
