Meadowood Napa Valley
Meadowood is a boutique resort encompassing 250 acres of tennis courts, golf greens, hiking trails, swimming pools and 85 guestrooms set in comfy cottages. Thanks to a recent renovation that has modernized the room interiors, and a recently three-Michelin-starred restaurant, Napa’s old dame is at its best. The vibe here can be positively Old World – guests can tee off at the nine-hole golf course using hickory clubs, whites are required on the croquet lawn, and daily afternoon wine tastings in the main lodge are done around a grand piano. But it’s perfect for those who take their Wine Country experience with a dash of British refinement. The property’s size means that rooms are situated all over the property, from along the golf course to up in the hills, and all rooms are decorated in a country style that befits the location. Treeline Rooms have private decks with beautiful views; Hillside Terraces take it one step further, with fireplaces and separate sitting areas. If your head is pounding from too much of the local Pinot, Meadowood has plenty to do. You have access to a full range of fitness options at the gym. At the spa, well-trained therapists offer treatments using local organics. The young chef at the newly three-Michelin-starred restaurant creates complex dishes that will delight your palate. Children are welcome and there is child care and play areas.
The most fertile and scenic wine country in the US is rightly famous and popular. Over 4 million people a year visit the region to sample and buy the wines produced by small bespoke wines and some of the biggest producers in America.
One of our favorite eco-luxury hotels is here as well – check out Bardessono.
