Mosaic Lagoon Lodge
This lovely lodge is tucked away on the Hermanus lagoon, accessed via a dirt road from Stanford.
The rooms are luxury safari style – complete with outdoor shower – and this is a haven for bird lovers, with flamingos, blue cranes, kingfishers and owls amongst the species commonly sighted. Activities include boat trips on the lagoon, the beach, quad biking, and there is a small pool to cool off in.
The food is excellent – leave some room after afternoon tea for dinner, where your meal can be complemented by one of the outstanding wines from the surrounding Overberg Region.
There are five suites built into an ancient milkwood grove, plus a spa for relaxing massage, skin and nail treatments. One of the suites has extra room and is perfect for families.
