Rancho do Peixe
Located on the pristine and remote northern coast of Brazil, where the star attraction is the magnificent natural beauty of Jericoacoara national park. This is a place for poking a straw into a coconut and falling asleep on a beach blanket, or perhaps some kite surfing. The sand dunes are literally steps away.
The pousada consists of sixteen wooden bungalows made entirely out of locally sourced materials. There are thatched roofs and furnishings constructed from rough-hewn wood.
The airy, relaxed cocktail bar and restaurant specializes in deliciously fresh fruit cocktails and Brazilian-Mediterranean cuisine. Since you’ll find mostly tropical berries and just-caught fish on your plate, you may feel light enough to take a moonlit dip in the large, inviting swimming pool before retiring to the bungalow for the night.
One of Brazil’s hidden gems, it takes an adventurous spirit – and a guide with a four-wheel drive vehicle – to open up this isolated region. Once you’re there, though, a diverse landscape is yours to enjoy, from beaches to mangrove lagoons to sand dunes.
