Wolwedans Dunes Camp
Sitting atop a 250m-high sand dune does give you an enviable panorama. Only 12 guests at a time are allowed to inhabit this pristine setting, the tents set on raised wooden platforms with decks large enough to sleep on a clear night. The meals here are quite lavish, and there’s a night time camp fire for trading tales.
This large nature reserve stretches for some 200,000 hectares, and is home to many zebra, leopard and baboon. Its location, set against the Naukluft Park and the Nubib Mountains, means that the reserve enjoys a diversity of landscapes, so there’s much to explore in a relatively small area.
