Help at a medical clinic and soup kitchen

Luxury Voluntourism Costa Rica

Just five miles from the center of San Jose is an impoverished community called Alajuelita. The residents of this neighborhood are primarily immigrants from neighboring Nicaragua, who have fled natural disasters, political conflict and lack of economic opportunity in their homeland. The population of Alajuelita is comprised of primarily women and children. Most of them lack health insurance and are unable to afford medical care.

Our partner
Our inspiring partner operates a free medical clinic in Alajuelita to provide all families with access to medical care. They provide psychological services and conduct health outreach programs to educate the community about nutrition, hygiene, healthy lifestyles, and preventative care. They also work with a local soup kitchen to provide nourishing midday meals to mothers and children.

How you can help
You can assist local staff at the medical clinic or in the soup kitchen.
