About this project

Help in this sea turtle conservation project that focuses on rehabilitating injured turtles and improving the survival rates of hatchlings, located on the south-west coast of Sri Lanka. 

 

Main volunteering activities:
  • Feeding and caring for injured turtles
  • Protecting turtle eggs from predators
  • Cleaning the turtles’ tanks
  • Assisting when turtles are released into the sea
  • Cleaning up the beach
Key information:
  • The typical number of days on this fulfilling project 2-3, but some spend longer
  • It involves 7-8 hours of helping each day
  • November to April is recommended, but you can help anytime
  • This volunteering project blends well with exploring the Southern Coast of Sri Lanka, on both land and at sea
