Visiting Zambia in April - June

Visiting Zambia from April to June falls during the transition from the wet season to the dry season. Here’s what you can expect during this time:

Weather:

April marks the end of the rainy season, so you can expect decreasing rainfall and a gradual transition to drier conditions.

May and June are generally considered the start of the dry season. During these months, the weather becomes increasingly dry and cooler.

Landscape:

The rains of the wet season (November to March) leave Zambia lush and green during April, especially in the national parks and countryside.

The landscapes are vibrant, and this is a great time for photography and enjoying the lush scenery.

Wildlife Viewing:

Wildlife is still active in April and May, making it a good time for safaris. Animals are easier to spot against the lush, green backdrop.

In June, as the dry season progresses, wildlife viewing becomes even better as water sources become scarcer, leading animals to gather around remaining waterholes.

April is an excellent time to visit Victoria Falls, as the waterfall is at its fullest due to the rains from the wet season. The spray and mist can be quite impressive.

As May and June progress, the water levels at Victoria Falls start to recede, offering a different but still captivating view.
